Fraunhofer IFAM presents its portfolio on the following topics:

Paint and lacquer technology

Fraunhofer IFAM will be represented at ECS 2025 in Nuremberg with various coating technology topics. These include barrier coatings, testing technology, PFAS-free coatings, self-healing coatings, anti-ice and anti-erosion coatings, corrosion protection and biofunctional surfaces.

The range is complemented by the topic of sealants and the presentation of the Center for Networked Surface and Coating Technology. At the congress, many of these topics will be presented in the form of lectures, and the scientists will be available at the booth for in-depth discussions.

Adhesives and polymer chemistry

Another focus is the development and testing of new raw materials for adhesives, matrix resins and polymer materials. This includes CO2 as raw material as well as natural and bio-based materials. Challenges of the circular economy are addressed through chemical recycling and debonding on demand solutions. Functionalization makes thermally conductive adhesives and self-healing materials accessible. In addition to applications in the packaging, automotive, aviation and energy industries, applications in medical and dental product sectors are addressed.

We offer practical, individual solutions for industrial requirements and issues with focus on economic feasibility.

Talks at the ECS 2025

At the congress, many of these topics will be presented in the form of lectures, Dr. Volkmar Stenzel will moderate the lecture session Functional Coatings and the scientists will be available at the stand for in-depth discussions.
