Metal / Carbon Composites
Carbon, depending on its modifications such as diamond, graphite, graphene and carbon nanotubes, provides a good opportunity for the development of new metal matrix composites (MMCs) due to its interesting properties, including good electric and thermal conductivity, high internal damping, hardness, good self-lubricating properties, and low density. According to the particular application, metal-carbon composites with their unique properties can be used in the areas of thermal management of electronic devices, tribology, and in equipment and mechanical engineering as a passive attenuator.
