Within the HYPRAEL project, researchers at Fraunhofer IFAM in Dresden are developing and analyzing catalysts and substrate materials that are corrosion stable as well as electrochemically active at 120 °C and 40 wt.% KOH. Furthermore, the degradation of various catalysts on the substrate under the ambitious operating conditions will be electrochemically evaluated in preliminary tests. In addition, a test rig will be set up to evaluate the suitable electrodes under additionally increased operating conditions up to 80 bar and 120 °C. The best candidates will then be delivered to a project partner for benchmark cell testing.
This project is co-funded by the European Union.
